I realize this is not the answer you want. I do not have the name of Lowder. Good luck in your hunt.

Elbert Slover was born 1825 in Madison Arkansas. He married 18 Jan 1849 to Elizabeth Russell Lafferty born 25 May 1822 in Arkansas died 25 May 1894 Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. she was the daghter of Jacob Binks Lafferty and Sarah Miller [Binks was the son of John Lafferty and Sarah Lindsey] [Sarah Miller daughter of James Miller and Elizabeth} Elber died 30 Oct 1850 in Slover Mountain, San Bernardino, California. His brother Alfred born 1828 in Madison Arkansas died 16 Dec 1850. Both died along with other family members in a gold mine cave in.

Elizabeth was my grandfathers older sister. Grandpa born 1838 in Arkansas my father born 1875 in Young Co., Texas.

In the family Bible Elizabeth is listed with Slover children: James Slover 4 Nov 1845 ( who was son of Kituria Jay. Elbert's first wife) and John E.B. Slover born 14 Mar 1850 in Arkansas. Elizabeth stayed in Arkansas with her family and 2 sons, there she remarried several times. Next married to William Maples and last to Benjamin B. Staggs. With Ben she and her family went to Parker Co., Texas where her sisters and brother lived. Then went on to Oklahoma where she had another brother.

Parents of James Ira Slover were Isaac Slover born 1777 Penn. Mar 20 1800 in Logan Co., KY died 15 Oct 1854 at base of Slover Mtn, San Bernardino, CA. He was burried twice. His final resting place was Mansa Cemetery. His wife Peggy Lowder born abt 1779 died 1817 in Indiana.
Isaac's parents were John Slover born 1755 Augusta Dist. VA died 3 May 1813 Logan Co. KY and his wife Nelly born abt 1757.
Family Bible of Jacob Binks Lafferty states that:
Elbert Slover father of James E.B. Slover departed this life 30 Oct 1850.
Alfred Slover departed this life 16 Dec 1850
Brother fell in California.

from Mrs B.H. Hadler. "Slovers of Madison Co., Arkansas".
Isaac Slover, born 1777, Ft Pittsburg PA married Mar 20, 1800, Logan Co., KY to Margaret (Peggy) Lowder. After the death of his wife at birth of twin sons, Enos and Enoch Slover in Indiana. Isaac moved went taking the older children with him but leaving the twins with a brother, James in Vanderburgh Co. Indiana. By 1820, they were living in Washington Co. "on the Grand River, two miles below the Saline" but in 1824 with a group of hunters and trappers, he was in Taos. Continuing westward he lived finally in California, where he was killed by a grizzly bear and buried at the base of the moutain that bears his name, near San Bernardino, CA.
When the twins were 10 years old, their uncle James died and one of the older brothers went to Indiana to bring them to join the family. In the tax lists 1837 to 1839 found in Madison County Genealogist, Vol. 3: 2: p 39 we find listed in 1837 Enos Slover, 1838; 1838 James Slover; 1830 James and Enoch Slover.

With news of gold in California, quite a group from Madison County went there, including Isaac's sons John, Enoch and James with James's son Elbert and Alfred and a son in law, John Jackson. An explosion in the mines killed all of them except Enoch and John Jackson who was blinded.
