Kennedy-Blackburn

CONT "Cash W. Blackburn, recorded some of this information on the Blackburn
2 CONT family from an old Manuscript (M.S.)
2 CONT "Cash W. Blackburn was a surveryor in Pendleton County, Kentucky.
2 CONT "He says that a Zachariah Benjamin Blackburn came to this country from
2 CONT Scotland sailing from England, probably in the late 1700's. He was of
2 CONT Scotch-Irish stock. He first settled in Virginia and later came to
2 CONT Bracken County, Kentucky, near Augusta. This was while Kentucky was still
2 CONT a part of Virginia."
2 CONT
2 CONT His children and their birthdays are listed in this family tree.
2 CONT
2 CONT "Allenson went to Indiana and died there. Some of these Blackburns later
2 CONT settled in Pendleton County. America Stephens Blackburn related to her
2 CONT son, John James Blackburn, when he was a small boy that some of them came
2 CONT from Virginia by wagon and river raft to Cincinnati.
2 CONT
2 CONT The Blackburn name is Irish, but they are Scotch by way of the Kennedy
2 CONT name. Notice the name Kennedy in some of the children. Benjamin
2 CONT Zachariah's wife was Sarah Kennedy.
2 CONT
2 CONT The Blackburn papers in Pendleton County library say that James
2 CONT Zachariah's great grandfather is Zachariah Blackburn.

2 CONT states:
2 CONT
2 CONT "Somewhere in my journeys I found a Francis G. Blackburn, Rt. 3, Box 145
2 CONT Zion Road., Dry Ridge, Ky., along with [her] phone number. The note says
2 CONT that she is researching a Benjamine Blackburn, born in Scotland in 1761,
2 CONT died in Ky., 1843, married Saray Kennedy in 1783. When I called [her]
2 CONT telephone number in Feb. this year, she no longer lived in Dry Ridge. I

Zachariah Blackburn is the great grandfather to Benjamin Zachariah
2 CONT Blackburn, according to an old document that Chester Allen Blackburn has.
2 CONT
2 CONT There is a city in England named "Blackburn." This could very well be
2 CONT named after Zachariah Blackburn.
