Abigail Barnes

I am looking for anyone who may be researching the Barnes and Allen families. I have a WILLIAM ALLEN (b.abt 1760, probably in NC (Warren,Wake,Johnston??) who married an ABIGAIL BARNES. Other Powell family researchers believed she may have been born in one of the southern counties of North Carolina, just above the Pendleton/Pickens County area of South Carolina. Anway, she married William Allen who was in Pickens Co. SC from about 1800 until his death in 1836. Many Allen researchers have said they were all told that the William Allen married Abigail Barnes but we have not been able to find out where or when.

A Jonathan Barnes sells or deeds a slave age 18 named Barbara to his daughter Abilgail, 1793 - Chatham Co, NC.

I found this information on the usgenweb Chatham Co, NC site.

I suspect that my Seth Barnes is a son of this Jonathan. 1790 Chatham Co, NC census - Jonathan has one son and 4 daughters living at home, if one of the females is his wife. He owns one slave.
