Ludwig Heinrich Abel
Ludwig Heinrich Abel was born September 9, 1752, at Wurtemburg, Vaihingen Parish, Germany, the son of Konrad Ludwig Abel and Eva Regina Boson.
Ludwig's family moved to America about 1756-1758, settling in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Ludwig moved to Virginia about 1773. He appears in Montgomery County and later in Wythe County. He obtained land in Wythe County, Virginia.
Ludwig married Elizabeth "Eliza" Wampler in 1774, in Virginia. Elizabeth Wampler was born August 12, 1752, at Cleona, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Hans (John) Michael Wampler and Anna Elizabeth (last name unknown).
We have been told Ludwig was a private in Capt. Bosseroa's Volunteers, under General George Rogers Clark from October 27, 1778 through December 17, 1779.
Ludwig died March 10, 1801, in Wythe County, Virginia.
Eliza may have been in Knox County, Tennessee during probate court proceedings after the death of her husband. She married George Davis, who we have been told was a bound man on her brother's farm. Eliza later moved to Roane County, Tennessee. Part of her children settled in Roane County and part settled in Greene County, Tennessee.
